A free app and service that helps families create healthy digital habits and stay connected. It’s designed to support both online safety and real-world awareness by offering tools for screen time management, content filtering, and location sharing
The Microsoft 365 subscription is always tied to a specific Microsoft account (the subscription owner). Only that owner can share the subscription and manage who it is shared with.
To keep using your wife's Microsoft 365 Family or Premium subscription, a Microsoft account is still required for each person who is shared in, including you. The owner (your wife) shares the subscription to other Microsoft accounts; those accounts receive and accept the sharing invitation and then get the benefits.
If you “close” (stop using or delete) the Microsoft account that currently receives sharing, that account will lose all subscription benefits:
- Loss of extra OneDrive storage and reversion to the free allowance.
- Loss of access to fully functional desktop Microsoft 365 apps (can only view/print, not edit or create new documents).
Your wife can continue to share her subscription with any Microsoft account you choose to use, but there must be an active Microsoft account for you to receive the shared benefits.
