Sticky Notes and One Note on Android Phone - Need to be accessible separately

The loss of the Samsung Notes to OneNote sync is particularly bothersome since OneNote has a limited functionality on the Android phone. MSFT saw fit to merge Sticky Notes with OneNote. That is ok on the PC but on my S25 Ultra they are so 'integrated' that the only way to get to Sticky Notes is first select OneNote then click on my Profile then select Sticky Notes then select whether I want a note, a camera interface, create a checklist, or talk to Sticky Notes. These are too many decisions to make just to jot down a quick memory jogger which is what Sticky Notes are all about! I know I can get around the problem if I would install the MSFT Launcher - but I like One UI! Besides I would loose too much functionality just to get this one thing that I should have all along. Instead I use (make that used) Samsung Notes for what OneNote wouldn't allow.

But now Samsung Notes or MSFT have made the decision to not sync these applications. What a shame on whoever made that decision! Quickly updateable Samsung Notes was the only workaround to jot down a quick note.

What does this mean for other Samsung/Google/MSFT integrations? Will they go away also? Think - PHONE LINK!!!

Sticky Notes and OneNote are now intentionally integrated on mobile, and Samsung Notes syncs into the OneNote feed rather than into a separate Sticky Notes app. On Android, there is no supported way in the current design to:

    • Run Sticky Notes as a fully separate, standalone app that opens directly (without going through OneNote or Microsoft Launcher), or
    • Restore the previous Samsung Notes → OneNote/Sticky Notes sync behavior beyond the OneNote feed integration.

Current supported options on Android are:

    1. Use Sticky Notes inside OneNote
      • Open OneNote on Android.
      • Tap Sticky Notes at the bottom right (or via Home → filter by Sticky Notes).
Sticky Notes sync across Windows, iOS, Android, web, and Outlook as long as the same Microsoft account is used.
    2. Use Samsung Notes with OneNote feed integration
Samsung Notes no longer syncs as independent notes into Sticky Notes, but can still appear in the OneNote feed:
      1. In Samsung NotesSettingsSync with Microsoft OneNote.
      2. Sign in with the desired Microsoft account and grant permissions.
      3. Choose which Samsung Notes folders to sync (folders with a small OneNote icon are synced).
      4. In OneNote or Outlook on the web/Outlook.com, sign in with the same account and open the OneNote feed to see Samsung Notes alongside Sticky Notes and OneNote pages.
Notes from Samsung can be copied out of the feed (select a note → Copy → paste where needed), but cannot be created/edited/deleted directly from the feed.
    3. Quick access via Microsoft Launcher (optional)
For faster access to Sticky Notes without opening OneNote, Microsoft Launcher can surface Sticky Notes as a card in the feed. This is optional and does not change the underlying integration model.

Regarding other integrations (such as Phone Link), the provided information only confirms that:

    • Sticky Notes, Samsung Notes, and OneNote are being consolidated into OneNote as the central note-taking solution.
    • Notes from other Microsoft experiences (for example, Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app) are also being moved into OneNote, reinforcing OneNote as the preferred hub.

No additional changes to other Samsung/Google/Microsoft integrations (including Phone Link) are described in the available information.
