    Hi Nancy,
What exact error do you get while accessing Microsoft Excel?

    Is it not installed?

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

To access Excel that is included with a Microsoft 365 subscription, use the account that the subscription is associated with and open Excel either as a desktop app (if your plan includes it) or as a web app.

    1. Verify the correct account and subscription
      • Go to microsoft365.com or www.microsoft365.com in a browser.
      • Sign in with the Microsoft account or work/school account that the subscription is tied to.
      • If Excel opens in “Unlicensed” or “subscription canceled” state, confirm the subscription is active by signing in to the Microsoft account dashboard and checking Services & subscriptions. If the subscription is past due, follow the steps to pay for the past-due subscription so Excel can be used again.
    2. Open Excel on the web (works on Mac)
      • After signing in at www.microsoft365.com, select Excel from the app launcher.
      • This lets Excel spreadsheets be created, opened, and edited directly in the browser.
    3. If Excel still won’t let editing or shows subscription notices
      • If a notice appears such as “Account Notice” or “Unlicensed Product,” follow the guidance in the subscription-notice article to resolve payment or activation issues. If nothing is done, Office apps eventually go into reduced functionality mode where files can be opened but not edited.

If the subscription is Microsoft 365 Basic, note that it does not include the desktop Excel app; in that case, Excel must be used via the web as described above.
