Additional file-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hello @Aron Beyens,
Thanks for raising this, and for providing the detailed description of the behavior you’re seeing.
I’d like to clarify that as a forum moderator, I do not have access to advanced tools, or contact Microsoft Support on your behalf. Please consider me an end user as well, providing guidance based on experience and documented processes.
I’ve tested this on my side using the Teams desktop app on Windows (version 26106.1906.4665.7308), and I’m not currently able to reproduce the issue, the SharePoint document library tabs are loading and updating as expected.
I’ve also checked the Microsoft service health dashboard and available resources on my end, and at this time I’m not seeing any active advisories or known incidents related to SharePoint document library tabs in Teams.
To help narrow this down and potentially resolve it, you could try the following steps:
1. Clear the Teams cache
This can help remove any stale or corrupted local data that may be affecting how tabs load or refresh.
- For the Teams desktop app: Clear the Teams client cache and then restart the application. You can follow this instruction: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
- For Teams on the web: Try clearing your browser cache, then sign in again. You can also test using InPrivate / Incognito mode or a different web browser
- For Teams on mobile: Uninstall the Teams app completely, then reinstall it from the app store and sign in again.
2. Update or reinstall Teams
Make sure you’re on the latest version of Teams. If the issue continues, a clean reinstall can help rule out any client-side corruption.
- To uninstall Teams: Uninstall Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Support
- To install Teams: Download Teams Desktop and Mobile Apps | Microsoft Teams [c0cc-4d8e-643-9d34]
- After installing Teams, check if there is any update and complete the set up
3. Recreate the affected tab
Removing and re-adding the SharePoint document library tab can sometimes reset how the content is rendered within Teams: Add a SharePoint page, list, or document library as a tab in Teams - Microsoft Support
If the issue persists after trying the above, the next step would be to collect Teams logs from an affected user and raise a support request with Microsoft. Providing logs will allow support engineers to review what’s happening at the client level (for example, tab rendering, authentication, or caching behavior), which isn’t visible from the interface and is often necessary to identify the root cause.
For business support:
- Collect user Teams logs: You can use this official instruction to collect Teams log: Collect log files for monitoring and troubleshooting in Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
- Find your Microsoft 365 admin: If you don't know who the global admin is in your organization, you can find guidance here: How can I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
- Submit a service request: The Global Administrator should create a support request with Microsoft to receive advanced technical assistance. For detailed instructions, see: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
- If your subscription is from a partner or reseller, contact the reseller's support provider to help open a service request on behalf of you instead.
Thanks again for sharing the details, it’s helpful for narrowing this down.
