    Hi @Gabriel-N

I tried opening the semantic model and I think I must have a connection issue on my end. I am working with my help desk to solve.

    Thanks,

    Kathleen

    Hello @Kathleen Galbraith

May I know if the Power BI Cloud you’re referring to is the Power BI web version? If so, you can try opening the semantic model for your dataset, switch mode from View to Edit, then you can use button new measure from ribbon.

If you’re using Power BI Desktop, you can refer to AI.

You may also want to review that you have the required permissions on the report/dataset (for example, Edit permission, and that the dataset allows model editing or preview features are enabled).

Please note that this forum is not specific to Power BI, and this guidance is based on my experience. For more targeted assistance, you may consider posting your question in the dedicated Power BI forum here: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Power-BI-forums/ct-p/powerbi
    Hope this info helpful.

In Power BI Desktop, measures are added from the Fields pane or the ribbon:

    1. In the Fields pane, right-click the table where the measure should live (for example, a Sales table), or select the More options (...) next to the table name.
    2. Choose New measure from the menu.
      • This creates the measure in that table and opens the formula bar so a DAX expression can be entered.

    Alternatively:

    1. On the Home tab of the ribbon, in the Calculations group, select New measure.
    2. Then choose which table the measure belongs to and enter the DAX formula in the formula bar.

Once created, the measure appears in the Fields pane with a calculator icon and can be used in visuals like any other field.
