Microsoft Copilot Tasks Preview limit.

So I basically signed up for, and got the Copilot Tasks preview. It worked fine for about a week, and then it said that I reached my weekly limit, so I just decided to wait a week. After a week went by, it still didn't reset, so I decided to wait another week. It still hasn't reset, and I can't access the tasks from any device. I can use the normal Copilot features, but not the tasks, which I paid for my M365 Personal plan for. I really have no idea what else to do at this point, so does anyone have an answer?

    Hi Abdullah Ali,

I can understand how frustrating this must feel, especially when the message says your weekly limit has been reached and it still hasn’t reset even after waiting more than a week.

Just to add some context, Copilot Tasks is still in preview. During this stage, features, usage limits, and overall behavior can change and may vary depending on system conditions as improvements are being rolled out. Because of that, scenarios like limits appearing earlier than expected or reset timing not matching exactly can sometimes occur while the service is still evolving.

Also, to set expectations: this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors (including external Microsoft employees) don’t have access to backend systems, so I'm not able to directly refresh or reset usage limits for an account.

Wishing you a smooth resolution and that you’re able to use Tasks again soon.

Tasks in Copilot is currently a preview feature and its usage is governed by AI credits and preview limits tied to the Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium subscription.

For Microsoft 365 Premium, Tasks is listed as:

    • “Tasks is currently available in preview in the US. Features, experiences, and usage limits may change during the preview period and may vary based on system conditions as improvements are made.”
    • Tasks usage is measured as “tasks per month” and is subject to limits that Microsoft can change during the preview.

    Because of this:

    1. The preview limit behavior (including resets) is not guaranteed to be weekly and can change without notice.
    2. Hitting the preview limit can temporarily disable access to Tasks even though other Copilot features (chat, app-based Copilot, etc.) continue to work.
    3. There is no documented self-service way to force a reset of the Tasks preview limit; it is controlled by the service and may depend on region, rollout stage, and system conditions.

The only supported path when Tasks remains unavailable after waiting is to contact Microsoft support so they can check the account and preview enrollment on the backend. Use the Microsoft 365 support channel associated with the subscription and provide that Tasks (preview) stopped working after a “weekly limit” message and has not reset.
