I have been trying to login my personal teams account but it keeps saying "Sorry, something went wrong, please try again". I have reset my password, restarted the computer, tried logging in from my phone, desktop, and internet browser. I have also updated teams. Can someone help me please?

    Hello.

can you please first try the web version in browser incognito mode. I would like to know if this is app level issue or account level issue.

Use these steps to troubleshoot the personal Teams sign-in issue:

    1. Confirm the account and password
      • Make sure the email and password being used are the correct Microsoft account credentials for that personal Teams account.
      • If unsure, reset the password again and sign in first at another Microsoft 365 entry point (for example, Outlook on the web) to confirm the account works.
    2. Try the Teams web client
      • Go to the web version at https://teams.microsoft.com/ using a browser where no one is signed in to Microsoft accounts (or use a private/incognito window).
      • If the web client works but the app does not, the issue is likely with the local Teams client.
    3. Fully sign out and reinstall Teams
      • Sign out of Teams everywhere it is installed.
      • Uninstall Teams from the device.
      • On Windows, after uninstalling, browse to the %appdata%\Microsoft folder and delete the Teams folder if present.
      • Reinstall Teams from the official download and sign in again.
    4. Check network and VPN
      • Ensure the device is connected to a stable internet connection.
      • If a VPN is used, disconnect and try again, or toggle it off/on.
      • If using a firewall or security software, verify it is not blocking Teams.
    5. Check for temporary service issues
      • There may be a temporary service-side issue. Wait a short period and try again.
    6. If access is being re-challenged
      • If a sign-in banner appears in Teams asking to Sign in, select it and complete any prompts, including multi-factor authentication.
      • If the sign-in window does not appear, quit and reopen Teams, then try again.
    7. If the problem persists
      • If none of the above resolves the issue and the same error continues across devices and web, contact Microsoft support for personal accounts, as the tenant or account may be blocked or require backend remediation.
