I could create a VM on my existing subscription "MCPP", but not on "Microsoft Azure-sponsorat", where only 1 size is available in dropdown, but "This size is currently unavailable in northeurope for this subscription: NotAvailableForSubscription."

Subscription 'Microsoft Azure-sponsorat' is automatically created by Microsoft, when I assigned 700$ free Azure credits from my Partner Program Benifits. So it should be possible to create VMs - and it was as I selected another - random - region. Pure luck

Hey Henrik, it looks like the “Microsoft Azure-sponsorat” subscription you spun up with Partner Program credits is an Azure Sponsorship offer, which by design has limited quotas and only a subset of VM sizes enabled—hence the single size in the dropdown and the “NotAvailableForSubscription” message when you try others in North Europe. Here’s how you can troubleshoot:
Verify available VM sizes for your subscription • In the Azure portal go to Subscriptions > Microsoft Azure-sponsorat > Usage + quotas. • Under the Virtual Machines section click View available sizes (or Request increase if needed). You’ll see exactly which sizes you can deploy in your region.
Check regional availability • You can also run in Azure Cloud Shell or your local CLI: az vm list-skus --location northeurope --size Standard_* --output table • See if your desired size shows up. If it doesn’t, it truly isn’t available to your offer in that region.
Next steps if your size isn’t available • Try a different region where the sponsorship offer has more SKUs enabled. • If you need larger or different VM sizes in North Europe, create a Pay-As-You-Go subscription (Subscriptions > Change offer > Pay-As-You-Go) or open a support ticket under Help + support > New support request > Quota to bump up your vCPU core limits.
Double-check your subscription context • When you hit + Create a resource > Virtual machine, confirm your Project details Subscription dropdown is set to “Microsoft Azure-sponsorat.” It’s easy to accidentally stay on your MCPP subscription and wonder why settings differ.

I think the Azure‑sponsorat subscription only shows the VM sizes that are allowed for that offer in that region, and NotAvailableForSubscription appears when a size is not allowed for that subscription
