I somehow, while using MS Word for Mac, Ver 16.78 I changed the size of my typing display on the page I was typing on. It is very small. When I print it is at 14 size, that size I use. Please advise how to reset.

Hi Ronald,

As per your description on the issue, this has something to do with the zoom slider. On the lower right corner, you should be able to see there a slider for zoom, set it to 100% and it should allow the font to show its correct font size based on what has been set.

The text is printing at the correct font size, so only the on‑screen view/zoom has changed. Reset the zoom and view mode in Word for Mac:

  1. Open one of the affected documents.
  2. On the ribbon, select the View tab.
  3. In the Zoom section, set zoom back to 100% (or another comfortable value).
  4. Also in the View tab, make sure Print Layout is selected (not Web Layout, Draft, or any special reading/immersive mode).

If the document still looks unusually small even at 100% zoom, check the Mac display scaling:

  1. On the Mac, click the Apple menu > System Settings > Displays.
  2. Adjust Resolution/Scaling away from “More Space” to a more standard setting so apps (including Word) appear at a normal size.

After these changes, the typing area on the page should appear at a normal readable size again while still printing at 14‑point.
