Hi AISHWARYA
Surface Book 2 can charge through USB-C, and the Surface USB4 Dock provides up to 65W of passthrough power.
That said, whether it works well depends on which Surface Book 2 model you have:
- 13" without Nvidia GPU: minimum requirement is 39W, so the dock should be able to charge it.
- 13" with Nvidia GPU and 15": Microsoft lists 95W for those models, so a 65W dock may charge slowly or may not keep up while the device is under heavier use. Please note that lower-wattage USB-C chargers can charge slowly or sometimes not at all.
So the short answer is: yes, it can charge a Surface Book 2, but for the higher-power models it may not be ideal as the main charger. If you want the best charging performance, the original Surface Connect power supply is still the safer option.
