Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for Education
Hi @Max Gazzardi Bilingual Solutions,
I hope you're doing well today.
To better assist, could you please confirm the exact error message you see when trying to join the meeting?
In the meantime, you can try the following steps:
1/ Try a different join method right away
If you're using the desktop app, switch to the web app or vice versa. You can also try joining via InPrivate/Incognito mode while signing in with the same account.
2/ Ensure you're using the correct account
Make sure you're signed in with the same work or school account that received the meeting invitation, as mismatched accounts can cause join issues or looping behavior.
3/ Use the Teams mobile app (for mobile devices)
If you're on a phone or tablet, avoid joining through a browser. Teams meetings are not supported on mobile browsers, please use the Teams app instead.
For more information, please refer to I can't join a meeting in Microsoft Teams
4/ Clear Teams cache
For Windows:
- If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon on the taskbar and select Quit.
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- In the Run dialog box, enter the following path and click OK:
%userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams - Delete all files and folders in this directory.
- Restart Teams.
For macOS:
- If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the dock and select Quit, or press Command + Q.
- Open Finder > go to Applications > Utilities > double-click Terminal.
- Enter the following commands, pressing Return after each one:
rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2 - Restart Teams.

5/ Restart and update Teams
Close and reopen the app first. If the issue continues, check for updates or reinstall Teams.

6/ Contact your IT admin
If this issue continues across multiple meetings or starts to affect your ability to join calls, I recommend reaching out to your IT administrator.
Your IT admin can create a support ticket through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center by following the steps here: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn .
Raising a support ticket allows Microsoft support engineers to investigate the issue in more depth. They can check backend service health, review meeting and account logs, identify any tenant-level or policy-related problems (such as conditional access, meeting policies, or licensing), and determine whether this is part of a wider service issue affecting multiple users.
If you’re unsure who your IT admin is, you can find guidance here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.
Note: We appreciate your understanding regarding the scope of support available through this forum. As moderators, our role is to provide general guidance and assist with common troubleshooting steps. While we do not have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend-related issues but we’ll continue doing our best to support you within the scope of our responsibilities.
I hope this helps you move forward. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I’ll be happy to assist further.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I look forward to supporting you.
