Hi @Laura McNamara

I was able to test this successfully on Excel for Mac version 16.109 (26051019) running on macOS Tahoe 26.3.1 (a). To better understand what’s different in your setup, could you please confirm the following:

-Which macOS version are you currently using?

-Can you add the add-in successfully in Excel on the web?

Sign in Microsoft 365 Portal > Apps > Then open Excel Online > check if the MyEducator add-in appears there.

-What Microsoft 365 license do you have? Based on your channel tag, it seems to be an education environment, you may have an A1, A3, or A5 license.

You can verify it here https://portal.office.com/account#subscriptions

-When you try to add the add-in, what exactly happens? Is the Get Add-ins button missing entirely? Does the Store open but MyEducator cannot be found? Or do you receive a specific error message? If yes, please share the exact wording or a screenshot.

Please know that while our initial response might not resolve the issue right away, your input is incredibly valuable. With a bit more detail, we’ll work together to find the best solution for you.

The issue is most likely that the current Microsoft 365 for Mac build that supports the MyEducator add-in is not available for the macOS version running on the device, or that the Excel version (16.108) is newer than what the Mac can fully support for all add-ins.

For education scenarios, it is important to confirm both:

    1. That the Mac meets the current system requirements for Microsoft 365 for Mac.
    2. That the correct Office build for that macOS version is installed.

If the Mac is running an older macOS (for example, Monterey 12.7.6 or Ventura 13.7.8), only specific Office for Mac versions are supported. In such cases, the recommended approach is:

    1. Verify whether the Mac can be upgraded to a newer macOS version that supports the latest Microsoft 365 for Mac.
    2. If the Mac cannot be upgraded, install the most recent Office for Mac version that is supported on that macOS release and activate it with the existing Microsoft 365 or Office license. This allows continued use of Excel and most add-ins compatible with that version.
    3. If the full desktop version of Office cannot be installed because the Mac does not meet system requirements, use Office Online in a browser instead, and check whether the MyEducator content or add-in is available there.

If the school provides Microsoft 365 Education, ensure sign-in with the school account that grants access to the correct Office apps and services.
