office 2021 asking for 365 activation

Thank you for responding. While waiting to hear, I followed instructions to use the Microsoft Office Licence removal tool. Now when I try to open an app it is saying licence not activated!

And yes the product Office 2021 is shown as active

Please follow these steps carefully to reactivate your Office 2021 license:

• Open any Office app (Word, Excel, etc.), sign out of your account, then sign back in using the correct Microsoft account to refresh the license.

• Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now to ensure your Office apps are fully updated.

If the subscription shows as active on your account but Office still asks for activation after completing these steps, I suggest uninstalling all existing Office versions first, then reinstalling Office directly from your Microsoft account to avoid conflicts:

Then reinstall Office using the steps below:

1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
2. Sign in using the Microsoft account associated with your license
3. Locate Microsoft Office and click Install
4. This will download the Office installer
5. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions

Once installed, open any Office app such as Word or Excel, then sign in using the Microsoft account associated with the purchase to activate Office.

Thank you so much. Yes I reinstalled again but this time uninstalled the last version first and restarted. All working again now.
