Sending multimedia content and documents within chat conversations in Microsoft Teams
In Microsoft Teams desktop, the file picker should show the full menu, including options like Attach cloud files and Upload from this device. The screenshot indicates the bottom of this menu is cut off, which is typically a client‑side display issue.
Try these steps in order:
- Resize or restore the Teams window
Exit full‑screen if enabled and slightly resize the Teams window. This forces the file picker to recalculate its position and often reveals the full menu. - Use the standard attach flow instead of the recent list
In the chat/channel:- Select Actions and apps > Attach file again.
- If visible, choose Attach cloud files or Upload from this device instead of picking from the recent list at the top.
These options open a separate dialog that is not clipped by the menu.
- Try keyboard navigation
When the menu is open, press Tab or Down Arrow to move focus past the recent files list. If the hidden options are reachable, pressing Enter on them will open the full file dialog. - Switch to the Teams mobile app as a workaround
On mobile, tap the Plus sign next to the compose box, then Attach, and browse to the file location. This bypasses the desktop UI issue. - Update or restart Teams
Close Teams completely (including from the system tray) and reopen it. If the problem persists, check for updates from the Teams menu and install any available updates, as UI issues are often fixed in newer builds.
If the issue only occurs on this device and not for colleagues after these steps, involve the IT admin to check for display scaling or graphics driver issues on the affected machine.
