    Next, try opening Excel in Safe Mode. You can do this by pressing Win + R, typing excel /safe, then pressing Enter.

    If Excel opens in Safe Mode, it usually means an add-in is causing the problem. In that case, go to File > Options > Add-ins, then at the bottom select COM Add-ins and click Go. Uncheck all add-ins, click OK, and then restart Excel normally to see if it works.

    Follow these steps on the laptop where Excel shows the error:

    1. Close all Office apps (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
    2. Run Excel in Safe Mode to check for problematic add-ins:
