    Hi @rezi purba

From your description, this kind of error often happens when Excel fails to start due to conflicting add-ins or a corrupted Office installation. To better understand your case, could you please share a screenshot of the exact error message you’re seeing? That will help me pinpoint the cause more accurately.

In the meantime, you can try a couple of steps that have a good chance of resolving the issue:

First, please make sure both your Windows system and Microsoft Office are fully up to date, as missing updates can sometimes cause startup errors.

Next, try opening Excel in Safe Mode. You can do this by pressing Win + R, typing excel /safe, then pressing Enter.

If Excel opens in Safe Mode, it usually means an add-in is causing the problem. In that case, go to File > Options > Add-ins, then at the bottom select COM Add-ins and click Go. Uncheck all add-ins, click OK, and then restart Excel normally to see if it works.

If the issue still continues, I’d recommend running an Online Repair for your Office installation. You can go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, find Microsoft 365/Office package, click Modify, and then choose Online Repair. This option will fix most corrupted files in the background.

And if after all of that Excel still doesn’t open, you might consider uninstalling Microsoft Office completely and then reinstalling it again.

If anything is unclear or the problem still persists after trying these steps, please feel free to reply by leaving a comment and share more details or screenshots. That’s the best way for me to stay notified and continue helping you promptly.

Looking forward to your update, and I’ll be happy to assist further.

Follow these steps on the laptop where Excel shows the error:

    1. Close all Office apps (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
    2. Run Excel in Safe Mode to check for problematic add-ins:
      • Press the Search icon, type Run, and open the Run app.
      • In the Run box, type: excel /safe and press Enter.
      • If Excel opens in Safe Mode (title bar shows “Microsoft Excel (Safe Mode)”), disable add-ins:
        1. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
        2. In the Manage list, choose Excel Add-ins (or COM Add-ins) and select Go.
        3. Clear the check box for one add-in and select OK.
        4. Close Excel, then open it normally (not in Safe Mode).
        5. If Excel works, the last add-in unchecked is causing the problem. Leave it disabled or remove it.
        6. If Excel still fails, repeat by disabling other add-ins one by one.
    3. If Excel does not start in Safe Mode, or if disabling add-ins does not help, repair Office:
      • Open Settings in Windows.
      • Go to AppsInstalled apps (or Apps & features).
      • Find Microsoft 365 or Office in the list and select it.
      • Choose Modify.
      • Select Online Repair and confirm.
      • Let the repair complete and then restart the laptop.
      • After restart, open Excel and test again.

If Excel still shows the same error after Online Repair, contact Microsoft support from the Office support page for further assistance.
