To reinstall Microsoft 365 after it was deleted, install it again from the Microsoft account that owns the product.
Follow these steps (Windows, personal/home use):
- Go to the Microsoft account dashboard: https://account.microsoft.com
- Select Sign in.
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to set up or purchase Microsoft 365 or Office.
- Select the Subscriptions icon in the left pane.
- On the Subscriptions page:
- If using an Office one-time purchase (perpetual license), find the same product name under Products you've purchased and select the Install link.
- If using a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription, select the Install Microsoft 365 link in the upper-right corner.
- In the Install Microsoft 365 dialog:
- Choose the preferred language.
- Choose the bit version (32-bit or 64-bit) from Choose a version.
- Select Install.
- An installer file (for example,
OfficeSetup.exe) will download. Double-click it.
- The installation dialog opens and the apps will install. Wait until the You're all set message appears, then select Close.
- Make sure the PC is connected to the Internet, then open Word or another Office app.
- Accept the license terms. If prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account used in step 3 to activate the apps.
If offline installation is preferred:
- Go again to https://account.microsoft.com and sign in with the same Microsoft account.
- Open Subscriptions.
- Select the Install or Install Microsoft 365 link for the product.
- In Install Microsoft 365, choose a language, then select Offline installer under Choose a version, and select Install.
- Download the
.img file.
- Double-click the
.img file to mount it as a virtual drive.
- Open the virtual drive, then the Office folder.
- Run Setup32.exe (32-bit) or Setup64.exe (64-bit) to start installation.
- After You're all set appears, close the dialog.
- Connect to the Internet, open Word or another app, and sign in with the same Microsoft account if prompted to activate.
If Microsoft 365 was provided by work or school and no install option appears after signing in with the work/school account at https://www.office.com, contact the organization’s Microsoft 365 administrator.
