I have also removed the Laptop from the Register but still not able unlock. I raseid a ticket sever months ago and chased via email and MS Teams but stil no response. Is there any support from Microsoft available ?

If the BitLocker recovery key reported in the Microsoft account or Intune portal is rejected as “not valid,” and it has been carefully matched to the Recovery Key ID on the blue screen, there are only a few supported options.

    1. Verify the correct recovery key
      • Make sure the 48‑digit key being entered matches both:
        • The Recovery Key ID shown on the BitLocker screen (first 8 characters), and
        • The device name/label shown with the key in the Microsoft account or Intune.
      • If there are multiple keys for the same device, try each one. In some reported cases, entering an older key once, then re‑entering the correct key allowed the device to continue.
    2. Try entering the key multiple times
      • There are scenarios where the first attempts fail but subsequent attempts succeed while BitLocker completes pending operations or updates. Users have reported success after entering the same key several times until the recovery process finished.
    3. Check all possible locations for the key
      • For personal devices, follow all locations listed in Find your BitLocker recovery key (Microsoft account, printed copy, USB, Azure AD/Entra ID, AD DS, etc.).
      • For work/school devices, the key may be stored in Microsoft Entra ID or on‑premises AD DS and retrievable by the organization’s IT/helpdesk. Use the documented process in your tenant (for example, Intune “Get recovery key for Windows”).
    4. Understand Microsoft support limitations
      • If the correct recovery key cannot be found in any of the documented locations, or every available key is rejected, BitLocker protection cannot be bypassed by Microsoft or anyone else. This is by design.
      • In that case, the only supported option is to reimage/format the drive and reinstall Windows, which results in data loss on that encrypted volume.
    5. When to use BitLocker Repair Tool
      • If the drive is damaged and even the correct recovery password does not unlock it, and there is no backup of the data, the BitLocker Repair tool (repair‑bde.exe) can be used to attempt block‑level recovery, but it still requires the corresponding recovery password and key package.
    6. Getting further support
      • If this is an organization‑managed device (Intune/Security), contact the internal IT/helpdesk or security team; they are the only ones who can access tenant‑stored recovery keys or decide on reimaging.
      • If no valid key exists in any supported location, Microsoft support cannot generate or recover a new key, and cannot unlock the drive without it.
