Additional team and channel-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for Education
Hi Nicole Zavala,
Good day and thank you for reaching out with your question.
Regarding your concern, support for Microsoft Teams for Educators is typically managed by your organization’s IT administrator. You may consider reaching out to your school’s IT admin or accessing support through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support if you have administrative access.
Microsoft also provides customer service phone numbers based on your region. Your IT admin can find the appropriate contact number here: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support
That said, if you have any specific questions about Teams for Educators, please feel free to share them here, I will do my best to assist you within my scope.
As for your Skype number, in general, Skype numbers cannot be directly transferred or reused as a Microsoft Teams phone number. Teams Phone requires numbers to be provisioned through Microsoft Calling Plans, Operator Connect, or Direct Routing, and number transfer (porting) depends on whether your service provider supports it. You may need to check with your admin or telecom provider to confirm if porting your existing number is possible.
This is because Skype Numbers are consumer services and are handled differently from Teams Phone.
To keep a Skype number, it generally must be ported out to another provider first, rather than directly converted into a Teams number. Teams Phone supports number porting, but only from eligible carriers/providers, not directly from personal Skype services.
For more information, please consult: How do I port my Skype Number to another company? - Microsoft Support
Then you can process with transfer your phone number to Teams by asking your IT admin to follow this guidance: Transfer phone numbers to Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
I hope this provides enough clarity and helps you stay inform with your current situation.
