Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Are you able to see your Microsoft Office 2024 under the Services & subscriptions page here: https://account.microsoft.com/services (make sure you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account you used to activate Office)?

If you can see it there, please follow these steps below.

If you haven't already, I’d suggest is to uninstall any existing Office apps on your Mac to avoid conflict:

    Then, to reinstall Microsoft Office:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services again.
    • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your license.
    • Find your Microsoft Office 2024 and click the "Install".
    • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" option still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

To install Office 2024 on a Mac without using Microsoft 365, use the Office 2024 product key and the Microsoft account it is tied to, not the old Microsoft 365 subscription.

    1. Confirm system requirements
      • Make sure the Mac meets the Office 2024 system requirements listed under Microsoft 365 and Office resources.
    2. Remove old Microsoft 365/Office remnants (recommended)
      • Uninstall any existing Microsoft 365 or older Office for Mac apps so they do not interfere with activation.
      • This avoids the apps continuing to prompt for the expired Microsoft 365 subscription.
    3. Redeem or confirm the Office 2024 product key
      • If the Office 2024 key has not been redeemed yet:
        • Go to https://microsoft365.com/setup.
        • Sign in with a Microsoft account (create one if needed).
        • Enter the Office 2024 product key to redeem it.
        • This permanently links Office 2024 to that Microsoft account.
      • If the key was already redeemed, skip to step 4 and just use the same Microsoft account.
    4. Download Office 2024 for Mac from the Microsoft account
      • Go to the Services & subscriptions page for that Microsoft account (the one used to redeem/buy Office 2024).
      • Under the list of products, locate the Office 2024 one-time purchase (for example, Office Home 2024 or Office Home & Student 2024).
      • Select Install to download the Mac installer associated with that license (this is the non‑subscription Office 2024 build).
    5. Install on the Mac
      • Open the downloaded .pkg installer file on the Mac.
      • Follow the on‑screen steps to complete installation of Office 2024.
    6. Activate Office 2024
      • Open Word, Excel, or another Office app.
      • When prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account used in steps 3–4.
      • The app should activate as Office 2024 (one‑time purchase), not as Microsoft 365.

If the apps still ask to activate Microsoft 365 after this, remove any old license information (for example, using the “Remove Office license” guidance mentioned in the Q&A context) and then sign in again with the Office 2024 account.
