    Hello

If you are using Windows 11 Home or Pro as a home user, your Microsoft Defender is an integrated part of Windows Security. It is not its own standalone app as Windows Defender. And it is free, comes with every Windows, unless you choose to set up your own third party antivirus security software.

However, if you are in a business settings, such as having device managed by organization IT, they might pay for the Microsoft Defender subscription for each user, and have the end point installed on your computer, so IT can manage all devices via the portal. But I saw you select 'Home" for the question tag, so I dont think this scenario applies to you.

Windows Defender (now called Windows Security) is pre-installed and located in the Settings app under "Privacy & security" (Windows 11) or "Update & Security" (Windows 10). The fastest way to find it is to click the Start menu, type "Windows Security," and select the app.
