    I understand how inconvenient it can be when previous Copilot chats are not available, especially if you need to refer back to earlier conversations. 

    At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario. 

    To help narrow this down, could you please confirm a few details? 

    • Are you using Copilot from the Windows taskbar, the Copilot app, or Copilot in a web browser? 
    • Are you signed in with the same Microsoft account that was used for those previous chats? 
    • Does the issue happen only on this Copilot+ PC, or are the past chats missing when you open Copilot from another device or browser as well? 
    • When you open Copilot, does the chat history area keep showing the loading bars, or does it eventually become blank? 
    • If you start a new chat now, close Copilot, and reopen it, does that new chat appear in the history? 

    In the meantime, please try the steps below: 

    1. Close and reopen Copilot 
    • Fully close Copilot, then open it again and wait a few moments to check whether the chat history loads. 
    1. Sign out and sign back in 
    • Sign out of Copilot, then sign back in using the same Microsoft account that was used for the previous conversations. 
    1. Check Copilot on the web 
    1. Try another browser or InPrivate window 
    • If you are using Copilot in a browser, please try another browser or an InPrivate/Incognito window. 
    1. Clear browser cache, if using Copilot on the web 
    • If the issue only happens in one browser, clear the browser cache, restart the browser, then open Copilot again. 
    1. Update Copilot and Windows 
    • Please check for pending updates by go to Settings > Windows Update and install any available updates. 
    • Open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates, then install available app updates. 
    1. Check whether new chats are saved 
    • Start a new Copilot chat, close Copilot, reopen it, and confirm whether the new chat appears in the history.

    Copilot keeps a history of signed-in conversations and normally shows them in the sidebar or history pane. If past chats are not visible, use these checks:

    1. Confirm sign-in
      • Make sure the same Microsoft account or Microsoft 365 work/school account is being used that was used for the earlier chats. Conversation history is account-specific.
    2. Verify conversation history is available in Copilot
      • Copilot retains the last 18 months of interactions in conversation history when signed in. If chats are older than that, they will no longer appear.
    3. Check Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat history (for work/school)
      • Go to Copilot Chat at https://m365.cloud.microsoft/chat and sign in with the work or school account.
      • In the Conversations list, select a conversation or All conversations to see the full chat history.
      • If the conversations appear there but not in another Copilot surface, use that Copilot Chat experience to revisit or continue them.
    4. Check if chat history-based personalization was turned off
      • In Copilot Chat, open ... Copilot chats and more > Settings.
      • Select Personalization and look at the Chat history tile.
      • If the toggle is Off, Copilot Memory will not use previous chats to personalize responses, and inferences from earlier chats are scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Turning it back On within 30 days preserves that data.
    5. Deletion of conversations
      • If individual conversations or the entire conversation history were deleted, they will not appear anywhere in Copilot.
