Microsoft Defender for home does not use multiple phone numbers inside the Defender app itself. For home subscriptions, Defender focuses on protecting devices and (optionally) identity theft monitoring; it does not manage or store multiple contact phone numbers per user in its own settings.
If the goal is to add Defender to more devices (for example, a second phone that uses the other number), install Microsoft Defender on that device and sign in with the same personal Microsoft account. Up to 4 additional devices (5 total per person) can be added this way, and they will all appear in the Defender dashboard under the same account.
To add another device:
- On a device where Defender is already set up, open Microsoft Defender.
- Use the Add another device option:
- Copy link to share the Defender download link via text, chat, etc.
- Or Email link to send a download link to any email address.
- Or Scan QR code from the new phone.
- On the new device, install Microsoft Defender from the link and sign in with the same personal Microsoft account.
This associates the additional device (and its phone number, if it is a phone) with the same Defender account, but there is no separate “second phone number” field to configure inside Defender itself.
