    Hi, I'm John!

You're not alone, many users are currently experiencing the same issue with Outlook. It appears to be a widespread connectivity problem. Impacted users may include, but are not limited to, iOS & MacOS users.

You can check the official service status here: https://portal.office.com/servicestatus/ expand “Microsoft consumer products”and look for the Outlook.com section for details.

For now, please wait until Microsoft resolves the issue and try again later.

Do you have access to your Outlook.com account elsewhere, like on a PC or Outlook Web? You might want to temporarily use Outlook there, as there is currently a known issue with Outlook for iOS & MacOS.

I really hope this information is helpful!

    Follow these checks in order:

    1. Verify Outlook.com mailbox isn’t full
    • If using an Outlook.com / Hotmail / Live / MSN address, a full Microsoft cloud storage prevents sending and receiving email.
    • Check mailbox storage using the storage page linked from the article. If storage is full, delete emails (especially with large attachments) or files until under the quota.
    1. Confirm account access and blocks
    • If email can’t be sent or received at all, confirm the account is still accessible and not blocked for unusual sign-in activity.
    • If sign-in fails, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper.
    • If the account is temporarily blocked, follow the steps to unblock the Outlook.com account.
    1. Check for device-specific sync issues
    • If only the Mac (or a specific device) stopped receiving email but webmail still works, remove and re-add the device partnership to fix sync issues.
    • The guidance notes that removing the device from the Outlook mailbox often resolves send/receive problems.
    1. Look for missing mail in other folders or views
    • If some messages are missing rather than all mail:
      • Check the Focused/Other tabs if using Focused Inbox; messages may be in the Other tab.
      • Check the Filter menu and set it to show All messages.
      • Check Deleted Items and use Restore or Recover items deleted from this folder (within 30 days) if needed.
      • Check the Archive folder and move items back to Inbox if they were archived.
    1. Check rules that might move or hide mail
    • In Outlook.com, open Rules settings and look for Inbox or Sweep rules that move or delete new messages.
    • Disable, edit, or delete any rule that diverts new mail away from the Inbox (for example, to RSS feeds or other folders).

If, after these steps, no new mail appears anywhere (Inbox, Other, Archive, Deleted Items) and storage is not full, use Outlook on the web to confirm whether the issue is with the mailbox itself or only with Outlook for Mac. If webmail also shows no new messages, the problem is at the account/mailbox level and not specific to the Mac client.
