When trying to set up a meeting through the Outlook app on my iPhone, the location doesn't pull up businesses when trying to add.

    Dear @Scott, Luke,

    I hope you’re having a good day.

Thanks for raising this, I understand what you’re expecting here.

In Outlook on desktop or web, the Location field can suggest businesses or places (like restaurants, offices, etc.) when you type, but in the Outlook app on iPhone, this feature doesn’t always behave the same way. The mobile app often doesn’t pull in those public place suggestions, so it can feel like the search isn’t working when in reality it’s a limitation or difference in how the mobile app handles it.

To work around this, the most reliable approach right now is:

Create or edit the meeting using Outlook on the web (outlook.office.com) or desktop Outlook, where location suggestions are more fully supported. When you type the business name there and select it from the suggestions, the location will be saved with the meeting and will sync normally to your iPhone, where you’ll see it correctly populated.

If you prefer to stay on mobile, you can still enter the location manually in the Location field, it just won’t auto-suggest nearby businesses in the same way.

I hope this information helps point you in the right direction. If you run into any issues while trying the steps, or if something still doesn’t feel quite right, please don’t hesitate to reach out again. I’ll do my best to support you however I can.

Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.

    Warm regards,

On iPhone, Outlook mobile can suggest locations and nearby places when creating a meeting, but it relies on the built-in meeting location assistant and available map/location data. If businesses are not appearing when typing in the Location field, use these checks and workarounds:

    1. Ensure the meeting location assistant is being used correctly:
      • When scheduling a meeting in Outlook for iOS, tap Location.
      • Outlook should suggest available rooms and nearby places; you can also type a location and let Outlook offer nearby options.
    2. Confirm device location services are enabled for Outlook:
      • Go to iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
      • Ensure Location Services is On and Outlook has permission (e.g., While Using the App).
      • Outlook features that depend on location (such as weather on calendar and nearby places) require Location Services to be enabled.
    3. Try searching by different terms:
      • Type the business name plus city or address, or just the address, to see if it resolves as a place.
    4. If suggestions still do not appear:
      • Manually type the business name and/or address into the Location field and save the event. The meeting will still include the typed location even if Outlook does not auto-suggest it.

If the behavior persists only for certain businesses or in certain areas, it is likely a limitation of the underlying location data used by Outlook mobile rather than a configuration issue.
