For some reason I am unable to receive any emails via Outlook on my iPhone. This started after the phone did an update last night.

    Hi, I'm John!

You're not alone, many users are currently experiencing the same issue with Outlook. It appears to be a widespread connectivity problem. Impacted users may include, but are not limited to, iOS users.

You can check the official service status here: https://portal.office.com/servicestatus/ expand “Microsoft consumer products”and look for the Outlook.com section for details.

For now, please wait until Microsoft resolves the issue and try again later.

I really hope this information is helpful!

Try these steps in order on the iPhone and Outlook app:

    1. Confirm Outlook.com account works elsewhere
      • On a computer browser, sign in to Outlook.com and check if new mail is arriving.
      • If no mail is arriving there either, follow the steps in Can't receive mail in Outlook.com: check the Other tab, Junk Email folder and settings, sort order, forwarding, and rules that might move or hide messages. Also confirm any third‑party mail service used supports modern authentication and IMAP.
    2. Reset the Outlook account on the iPhone
      • Open the Outlook app.
      • Go to Settings.
      • Tap the email account that stopped syncing.
      • Tap Reset Account and wait for it to resync.
    3. Remove and re‑add the account in Outlook for iOS
      • In Outlook app: Settings → tap the account → Delete AccountDelete From This Device.
      • Add the account again using the normal Outlook.com / Microsoft 365 option (not POP/IMAP if possible). If prompted for IMAP/POP, be aware that calendar/contacts won’t sync and server settings may be required from the provider.
    4. Check for sync partnership issues
      • If the account works in a browser but not on the iPhone, remove the device partnership from Outlook on the web as described in Fix email sync issues by removing a device from your Outlook mailbox, then let the phone resync.
    5. If still not receiving mail only on the iPhone
      • Verify that any third‑party mail services used with Outlook support modern authentication; if not, use the Outlook.com / Exchange option or the Outlook app itself as recommended in Modern Authentication Methods now needed to continue syncing Outlook Email in non-Microsoft email apps.
      • If the issue persists only in the Outlook iOS app after these steps, contact Microsoft support or use the Outlook Forum on Answers for device‑specific investigation.
