My email is allowing me to sign in online but not on my Mail app on Iphone

When trying to sign it it keeps asking me for a verification code being sent to an email address that was deleted YEARS ago, it’s not giving me any other method to sign in and now can’t get access

When Outlook asks for another verification method, it means additional security info must be confirmed or added before email can sync again.

Use these steps:

1. In a web browser on the Mac, go to the Microsoft account security page:
   • Sign in with the Outlook email address and current password.
   • If prompted with a message like "Let's protect your account" or "Help us secure your account", follow the wizard:
     1. Enter an alternate email address or phone number that can receive a code (it does not have to be the Outlook address itself).
     2. Select Next.
     3. Retrieve the code sent to that email/phone.
     4. Enter the code and select Verify.
2. If verification codes are not arriving at the alternate email:
   • If the alternate address is another Microsoft address (@outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com), use a browser privacy/InPrivate window so both accounts can stay signed in:
     1. Open a private/incognito window.
     2. Sign in to the account that is asking for the code and leave that tab open at the code prompt.
     3. Open a second private/incognito window, sign in to the alternate email account, and read the verification email.
     4. Copy the code back into the first window.
3. If the message says to "make sure you can receive a security code":
   • On the security page, verify or add a new phone/email as backup security info.
   • If no longer have access to the listed phone/email, choose I don't have any of these when prompted and follow the steps to update security info.
4. After security verification is completed successfully in the browser, return to Outlook for Mac:
   • Quit and reopen Outlook.
   • If Outlook still cannot sync, remove the account from Outlook and add it again so it can use the updated, verified sign-in.

If the non-Microsoft mail app on the Mac still cannot connect after this, use the Outlook.com sign-in option in the app if available, or install the Outlook app for Mac, which fully supports modern authentication.
