A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Welcome Samuel Edelman!
Based on what you described, when you open a saved Word document on your iPhone 16 Pro Max and try to edit it, the on-screen keyboard does not appear, preventing you from typing.
Before reaching out to Support, you might try the following first:
- Fully close the Word app, reopen it, and check for any available updates
- Restart your iPhone to refresh background processes
- Make sure iOS is up to date
If the issue continues, it may be worth resetting the keyboard setup:
- Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards
- Remove the current keyboard, restart the device, then add it back
Also, if the file was previously created or edited using a third‑party app (such as DocsToGo or similar), this can sometimes interfere with how Word handles editing. In those cases, try opening the file in Word and saving a new copy, then edit that version (if possible) to see if the keyboard works back.
If the issue continues, feel free to post back here, and I’ll do my best to guide you on the next steps, including how to contact Support (live chat) if needed.
