    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

You might still be able to recover it however, chances depend on how the file was closed and where it’s stored. First, open Excel, go to File → Info and look for "Manage Workbook" if there are any just click recover unsaved workbooks.

If you can recall how it was closed like Excel crashed or just closed normally and clicking don't save?

If the workbook was closed without saving, recovery depends on whether AutoRecover/AutoSave was enabled and how the file was stored.

    1. If the file was saved before and then closed without saving
      1. Open the Excel file again.
      2. Go to File > Info.
      3. Under Manage Workbook, look for a version labeled (when I closed without saving).
      4. Select that version, then choose Restore to get back the latest autosaved version.
    2. If the file was never saved
      1. In Excel, go to File > Info > Manage Workbook > Recover Unsaved Workbooks.
      2. Select the unsaved file from the list and click Open.
      3. Use Save As immediately to keep that recovered version.
    3. If Excel or the computer crashed
      • When Excel is opened again, the Document Recovery pane should appear automatically.
      • In that pane, select the most recent version of the workbook (check the date/time), then choose Open and Save As.

If none of these options show a recent version, and the file was closed with Don’t Save, the latest unsaved changes are not recoverable.
