Personal accounts aren’t supported yet in Teams (preview) To use your personal account, open Teams on the web

I've been using my personal account on teams all these while on my PC & I've downloaded Teams on my laptop via microsoft store & I get this message 'Personal accounts aren’t supported yet in Teams (preview) To use your personal account, open Teams on the web'. I uninstalled the version downloaded on the laptop via microsoft store & downloaded from the web, same error message appears.

Where can I download the actual app?! It appears that the download link is outdated! So frustrating.

For those on Windows 10 seeing this issue, try this workaround

Close and uninstall Teams via Windows settings > Apps.

Log in to the web version, then select "Meet" to generate a meeting link. Paste the meeting link into a new browser tab and open it; once you see the "Join your Teams meeting" screen, look for the "Download now" option at the bottom and install the application. After installation, the option to join the meeting will appear immediately; look for the "Sign in" option at the bottom, log in with your account, see if it lets you.

Uninstall any currently installed Teams application on your computer.

Install the latest New Teams application using this installation site:

Hi, I just had to do a fresh install of windows 10, and following this advice I still get the same message that personal accounts aren't supported. On the old install, it was working fine.

Almost all Windows 10 devices in our organization are experiencing the same issue.

Windows 10 version: 19045.5608

Reinstalling Teams and clearing the cache have not resolved the problem.

Regrettably, our organization has a strict policy prohibiting the use of web browsers --- we can't use @EmilyS_726 's solution.

Open Windows Task Manager. Make sure that the "Command Line" tab is enabled. Expand the Teams item. What exactly is the installation path and version number of the installed application?
