You can proceed and have a look, follow the steps below.
Here are the steps on how to check your Keychain.
- Open Spotlight (Cmd + Space)
- Type Keychain Access → open it (or go to Applications → Utilities → Keychain Access)
- In the search bar, type:
- Microsoft
- Outlook
- or your email
- Double-click an entry → check “Show password” → enter your Mac password
On this part you can validate the details (username & password) for your email account.

2026-04-20T16:48:30.02+00:00 You’ve got two different issues happening at once, Outlook freezing with the blue loading bar and that Keychain pop-up about Exchange. Outlook is trying to access saved login data, but it’s corrupted, outdated, or mismatched that's why authentication fails → Outlook gets stuck in that loading loop.
Do you know how to check your Keychain(where passwords are saved) in your MAC?
Before we proceed with the additional troubleshooting you also need to test your email and password first if it's working.(other email program or web login)

- Select Add Account (or Add Email Account in Legacy Outlook).
- Type the Gmail address and select Continue.
- When prompted, sign in to the Google account and follow the prompts.
- On the Google permissions screen, select Allow so Outlook can access mail, calendar, and contacts.

If Outlook reports trouble connecting to Gmail, verify Gmail is configured to allow IMAP:
- In a browser, go to Gmail.
- Open Settings and select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Under IMAP access, select Enable IMAP.
- Select Save Changes.
Then retry adding the Gmail account in Outlook using the steps above.
If an error such as NoPrimaryEmailErr or Unable to authenticate user appears when adding the Google account, update Outlook for Mac to at least build 16.23 using the automatic update process, then try adding the account again.
