    Hi Charlie Martharper

Quick Edit visibility is controlled by the view configuration, not permissions alone, so I’ll need a bit more information to assist you further.

1> Do you still have Full Control on this site? And do you personally experience the same behavior as the affected users? Does the issue occur when you open the document library directly, or only when accessing it through Webpart?

2> When you say Quick Edit is not visible, do you mean:

    • the option is completely missing, or
    • it is visible but greyed out?

If the option is completely missing, please make sure that Quick property editing is set to Yes under Library Settings > Advanced settings.

3> Also, please check the current view configuration. Is the view using Group By or a non‑Default view style? In SharePoint Server 2019 (classic experience), Quick Edit is only available with the Default view and when Group By is not applied.

4> Could you also confirm whether this document library is using the Classic or Modern experience? If Quick Edit is enabled but still not available in Classic view, you may try switching to Modern experience and check whether the option appears there.

Hope this information helps. Please let me know what you find so I can assist you further.

Quick Edit visibility is affected by more than just site permissions. Even with Full Control, the button can be hidden or disabled by view configuration and page context.

    Check the following:

    1. Confirm users are selecting the library
      • On pages with several Web Parts, users must click inside the specific library or list web part first, then look for Quick Edit. If the library isn’t the active web part, the button can appear disabled or not apply.
    2. Check the current view settings
      • The Quick Edit button may not be enabled in certain list views, especially non-default or custom styles.
      • In the library, go to LIBRARY (or List) → Modify View.
      • In Style, set it to Default, then OK.
      • Alternatively, switch the Current View to Datasheet View, which allows inline editing.
    3. Verify item selection behavior
      • Some ribbon buttons only enable when items are selected. For Quick Edit, ensure the user is in a view that supports it and that the library web part is active.
    4. Check for missing feature enablement or other restrictions
      • If other buttons like Alert Me or RSS are also disabled, a site administrator/owner may need to enable related features or review customizations that affect the ribbon.

If, after these checks, Quick Edit still does not appear, compare the view and page configuration with a library where Quick Edit is visible to identify differences in view style or web part settings.
