A OneDrive personal account and a Microsoft 365 work/school OneDrive account cannot be merged into a single account or single storage. They can only be used side by side.
On a Windows PC, only one personal OneDrive account is allowed, but multiple work or school accounts can be added. The “OneDrive – privat” entry is the personal OneDrive. It cannot be merged with the Microsoft 365 work/school OneDrive, but it can be removed from the PC if it is not needed.
To keep both side by side on Windows:
- Open OneDrive settings (select the OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon → Settings).
- Go to the Account tab.
- Use Add an account to add either the personal or the work/school account as needed. Note that only one personal account is allowed.
If “OneDrive – privat” keeps trying to sign in and is not needed, remove that account from OneDrive in the same Account tab by choosing the option to remove/unlink that account. This stops it from signing in on the PC but does not delete the Microsoft account itself or its cloud storage.
Files can be copied or dragged between the personal and work/school OneDrive folders, but the storages remain separate and cannot be merged.
