    Hi Rizwan Khan,

I understand you want to remove the blurred background in Microsoft Teams, but it still looks blurred after you change the settings.

I reviewed the Q&A Assist answer, and the core guidance is correct: in Teams meetings you can turn off background effects by selecting None (either before joining from the pre-join screen, or during the meeting from the video effects/background effects menu). Have you had a chance to try those steps yet, and if so, what device are you using (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, or web)?

If you already selected None and the background still appears blurred, here are a couple of additional things worth checking:

    1. Confirm the effect is set to None for that meeting session: Background settings can persist across meetings until changed, so it’s helpful to re-open the effects panel after joining and verify None is still selected.
    2. Check whether Windows is applying camera blur outside of Teams: On some Windows 11 devices, Windows Studio Effects can apply “Background effects” (including blur) at the system level, which can affect any app using the camera, not just Teams. If that’s enabled, turning Teams to None may not fully remove blur until Windows Studio Effects background effects are turned off as well. Reference: Windows Studio Effects - Microsoft Support
    3. If you’re on Linux or an optimized virtual desktop (VDI): Microsoft notes that background effects aren’t available in certain setups (for example Linux, or Teams through optimized virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)). In those scenarios, the background options may not behave the same way as on the standard desktop app.

For reference, the official steps for changing background effects (including selecting None to turn effects off) are here: Change your background in Microsoft Teams meetings - Microsoft Support

Hope this helps. Share your platform and whether you’re using the desktop app or a browser, and I can tailor the next steps more precisely.

Try the following steps, in order, to fully remove blur and any background effect in Teams:

    1. Turn off Teams background effects (Windows desktop)
      1. Join or start a meeting.
      2. Open Background settings (for example, via the pre-join screen or during the meeting from the More options menu).
      3. In the Background settings pane, use the keyboard arrow keys or mouse to select None.
      4. If already in the meeting, move focus to the Apply button and select it. If not yet in the meeting, the effect turns off automatically.
      5. Confirm that no blur or image is shown behind the video.
    2. Turn off blur when using a screen reader (Windows)
      1. Whether before or during the meeting, navigate to the Background settings pane.
      2. Use the arrow keys until the None button is reached, then press Enter.
      3. If already in the meeting, press Tab (or B in virtual/browse mode) until "Apply" is announced, then press Enter.
    3. On iOS/Android mobile (screen reader scenario)
      • Before joining:
        1. From Calendar, open the meeting and activate Join.
        2. In the pre-join dialog, swipe until "Turn on background blur" is announced.
        3. If blur is on, double-tap to toggle it off (unblur background).
      • During the meeting:
        1. Swipe to "More calling options" and activate it.
        2. Swipe until "Unblur background" is announced and double-tap.
    4. If “None” still shows a solid color (Mac/FaceTime camera)
      • When None is selected in Teams but a blue (or other solid) background still appears, the macOS FaceTime Camera processing is likely applying that background.
      • On the Mac menu bar, open the FaceTime Camera menu while the camera is active and turn off any background/portrait/Studio or similar effects there. Once disabled at camera level, Teams’ None option will show the real background.
    5. Check for VDI limitation
      • If using Teams in an optimized virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment, background effects may not be fully supported. In that case, the ability to change or remove blur can be limited by the platform.

After these steps, the video feed should show the actual physical background with no blur or image overlay.
