    Hi @Vineet Vineet,

You’re hitting a tenant / directory mismatch issue, not a problem with your Azure Student subscription or the Central India region.

This is a known and common issue with Azure Language Studio sign‑in, especially when using Student / Education accounts.

Selected user account does not exist in tenant ‘Microsoft Services’ and cannot access the application…

    Explaination

    • Language Studio is trying to authenticate you against the wrong Microsoft Entra tenant: Microsoft Services
    • Your Azure Student account exists only in your own tenant (default directory tied to your subscription)
    • Because of that, Entra ID blocks access

    This is not:

    • A quota issue
    • A region issue
    • A Student subscription limitation

It is purely an authentication / directory selection problem

    Remedial

    Please clear cache and cookies.

Open Language Studio via Azure Portal

This ensures the correct tenant is always used.

    1. Go to Azure Portal 👉 https://portal.azure.com
    2. Make sure you are signed in with your Azure Student account
    3. Click your profile icon (top‑right)Switch directory
    4. Select your Default Directory / Azure Student tenant
    5. Navigate to:
    6. All resources → Your Azure AI Language Resource. Click “Open in Language Studio”

    Verify these prerequisites (quick check)

    Make sure:

    • You have an Azure AI Language resource created
    • Your account has at least Cognitive Services User or Contributor role
    • You are not using a personal Microsoft account (Outlook/Hotmail), have to use student email from university only.

Please share your email address in private message to connect on call once if the issue persists after switching directory.

    Thank you.

    Hello Vineet Vineet,

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the error details.

Based on the message you’re seeing “Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services'…”

this is a multi-tenant authentication issue (Microsoft Entra ID) rather than a problem with your Azure Student subscription or the Language service itself.

    What is causing this issue

When accessing Language Studio, the sign-in flow is attempting to authenticate your account against a different tenant (Microsoft Services) instead of your own Azure tenant.

Since your student account exists only in your tenant:

    • Authentication fails
    • Access to Language Studio is blocked

    This typically happens due to:

    • Cached login sessions
    • Incorrect directory context
    • Direct navigation to the Language Studio URL without tenant alignment

    Recommended resolution steps

    1. Launch Language Studio from Azure Portal (Recommended)

This is the most reliable approach:

    1. Go to https://portal.azure.com
    2. Navigate to All resources
    3. Select your Azure AI Language (Cognitive Services) resource
    4. Click “Open in Language Studio”

This ensures Correct tenant is used, Authentication is aligned with your subscription

    2. Switch to the correct directory

    Before opening Language Studio:

    1. In Azure Portal (top right corner), click your profile
    2. Select Switch directory
    3. Choose your Azure Student / default directory
    4. Then try accessing Language Studio again

    3. Use InPrivate / Incognito session

    To avoid cached tenant conflicts:

    • Open a new InPrivate/Incognito browser window
    • Sign in again with your Azure Student account
    • Access Language Studio from the portal

    4. Verify resource and permissions

Ensure You have an Azure AI Language resource created (e.g., Central India or supported region)

Your account has appropriate RBAC role Reader or Cognitive Services User

    5. Direct access scenario

If you are accessing https://language.azure.com directly:

    • The app may default to a different tenant (Microsoft Services)
    • This causes the error you are seeing

If direct access is required, a workaround would be:

    • Having your account added as a guest user (B2B) in that tenant

However, this is generally not needed for normal usage.

This is a tenant mismatch issue during authentication

Your Azure Student account is valid and working correctly

    Most effective resolution:

    • Open Language Studio via Azure Portal
    • Ensure correct directory is selected
    • Clear session / use Incognito

I Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further queries.

    Thank you!

    still same issue
    Pick an account

    to continue to Language Studio

Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application <REDACTED> in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.
