Inquiry the status of Azure cloud services in the UAE?

We understand that AWS services in the UAE are experiencing disruptions, and our business operations in the region have been affected.
Could you please advise whether Microsoft Azure data center services in the UAE are operating normally?
We may need to migrate some of our related workloads from AWS to Azure and would appreciate Microsoft’s support.
I appreciate that I can get your answer ASAP, we need to migrate it in the coming week.
Thanks.

    Hello @Xiaofeng,

Thank you for checking the Azure Status pagegreat proactive step!

You're correct, there are no current outages or service impacts in UAE North or UAE Central regions. Everything is running smoothly right now.

That said, since you're migrating from AWS, prioritizing disaster recovery (DR) best practices will ensure resilience. Here's a quick checklist to get you started:

    • Azure Site Recovery: Replicate VMs and apps across regions for automated failover (e.g., UAE North → UAE Central).
    • Azure Backup: Enable geo-redundant storage for critical data.
    • Availability Zones: Deploy across 3+ zones within a region for high availability.
    • Traffic Manager: Route traffic dynamically during failures.
    • Test Your DR Plan: Run quarterly drills using Azure's recovery testing features.

We recommend starting with our Azure Migration Guide to tailor this to your setup.

The current operational status of Azure services in the UAE region cannot be determined from the provided information.

To check whether Azure datacenter services in the UAE are operating normally and to monitor any active incidents affecting your subscriptions and regions, use the following steps:

    1. Go to Azure Service Health in the Azure portal. This view is personalized to your subscriptions and will show:
      • Ongoing service issues or events impacting your resources.
      • Automatic incident update alerts that you can route to an Azure Monitor action group (email, ITSM, etc.).
    2. If access to the Azure portal is limited, check the public Azure status page at https://azure.status.microsoft/ for any widespread issues that meet the publication criteria.
    3. If there are issues with the status page, review updates from @AzureSupport on X (formerly Twitter).

For migration planning from AWS to Azure in the UAE:

    1. Follow the prescriptive guidance in the “Migrate a workload from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Azure” series. It recommends a like‑for‑like migration strategy to minimize risk and keep the same SLAs/SLOs and KPIs when moving workloads.
    2. Treat this as a structured project: plan, prepare, execute, then validate before decommissioning AWS resources, focusing first on stability and continuity rather than optimizations.

If any incident is detected in your target Azure region, evaluate whether to delay migration or adjust the target region based on your business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) plans.
