I need to reinstall Office 2024 I bought on 12 February 2026

I discontinued my subscription to Microsoft 365 in 2019, using a business email of [Moderation note: PII removed]@flywire.online. On 12 Feb 2026 I bought Office 2024 and installed it, using my personal email of [Moderation note: PII removed]@mac.com. Over the last couple of weeks I kept getting notices that the 365 subscription could not renew because the credit card was out of date. I ignored it because I had bought Office 2024.

Today I cannot save my work and cannot use the Office Apps I paid for! 365 was not installed on my computer. And I installed 2024. Now the About says it is 365 a 365 subscription. That is NOT what I want, nor is it what I paid for. How do I fix this?

Order Number: [Moderation note: PII removed]Date purchased: February 12, 2026

    Hi, Scott Perdue

It sounds like the computer is still using an old Microsoft 365 license or cached activation, so the apps have fallen into reduced-function mode even though Office 2024 was purchased. If it says Microsoft 365 in About, that can be a licensing display issue, but not being able to save means the activation needs to be cleaned up.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

First sign in at account.microsoft.com/services with the personal account that was used to buy Office 2024, and make sure Office 2024 shows there. If it does, reinstall from that page only, because after the first redemption the Microsoft account becomes the license, not the key.

On your Mac, it is recommended that you remove the Office license files with Microsoft’s License Removal Tool, and if the apps came from the Mac App Store, remove them and reinstall the Microsoft download instead, because one-time Office licenses do not activate the App Store version.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
