Based on the information you’ve shared, please follow the steps below to help resolve the issue.
(Please back up all your important data before you perform the steps.)
Step 1: Sign out of all Office apps
- Open Word (or any Office app).
- Go to File > Account.
- Select Sign out if it's connected to the school account.
- Close all Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Step 2: Remove work or school account from Windows
- Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- Select your current account.
- Click Disconnect and confirm.
- Restart your device.
Step 3: Delete identity and authentication cache
- Press Windows + R.
- Open the following location: %localappdata%\Microsoft
- Delete these folders if they exist:
- IdentityCache
- OneAuth
- Olk
Note: Folder Olk is located in the same Microsoft folder as OneAuth.
Step 4: Clear Credential Manager
- Open Control Panel > Credential Manager.
- Select Windows Credentials.
- Remove any entries related to:
- MicrosoftOffice
- Office/Outlook/Teams
- OneAuth
- ADAL
- Accounts associated with the school tenant
Step 5: Restart and try again
- Restart the computer.
- Test the behavior again.
