Artifact Signing: Australia Not Supported for Identity Validation

We are an Australian software company (registered with ASIC, ABN verified) building a commercial desktop application for Windows using Electron. We have already set up an Artifact Signing account and assigned the required roles, but cannot proceed with identity validation because Australia is not listed in the country dropdown.

The current documentation states Artifact Signing is available to organisations in the USA, Canada, EU, and UK. Australia is notably absent despite:

  • Azure having two datacentre regions in Australia (Australia East, Australia Southeast)
  • Australia being a major market for Windows desktop software
  • Australian businesses having robust, publicly verifiable registration through ASIC and the ABR (Australian Business Register)

Our only alternative is purchasing a third-party code signing certificate ($300–500+/year) with a hardware token or cloud HSM, which is significantly more expensive and complex than the $9.99/month Artifact Signing service.

Questions

  1. Is there any timeline for expanding Artifact Signing identity validation to Australia/APAC?
  2. Is there a way for Australian organisations to request early access or participate in a pilot?
  3. Can we submit a feature request through a formal channel to prioritise this?

This is blocking us from shipping signed Windows builds. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I think that AU just isn’t in the Artifact‑Signing trust chain yet… so the only solid step u can take now is log it in Azure Feedback and open a support ticket, maybe glance at the tenant’s geo/compliance flags so nothing local blocks u.
