Hello,

Since last week, I haven't been able to access my emails or my inbox, either online or via the Outlook app.

Online:

When I log in to outlook.live.com with my Microsoft Exchange email address, all I see is ******@outlook.com, along with an empty inbox.

Outlook app:

As soon as I try to add my Exchange account, a message appears saying that the name cannot be found in the address book.

I have a work account that works perfectly, as well as a private Exchange email account, whose inbox appears to have been temporarily moved to an Exchange inbox.

I’ve already tried deleting both profiles and reinstalling them. The work account works. Unfortunately, the private ******@alex.....com does not.

Thank you in advance!

    Hi Alexandra Pawlowski

Before you proceed, please do not select “Use temporary mailbox / Connect to temporary mailbox”. Microsoft warns that this option can cause data loss.

If OWA access works correctly, here are recommends the following official solutions for this error message:

    • Delete all existing Outlook profiles except your primary one.
    • Create a new Outlook profile (you can see detailed steps to create a new profile here: Create an Outlook profile - Microsoft Support) and set it as the default, then remove the old profile

    Registry fix

If the problem persists, you can attempt the registry solution:

    • Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
    • In the Registry Editor, paste this path into the address bar:

    User's image

    • Create a new DWORD (32-bit) value named ExcludeExplicitO365Endpoint and set the value to 1 then restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

    • Create a new Outlook profile and add accounts to see if the problem persists.

Additionally, as a forum moderator, I can only share information and general guidance. How you choose to apply these steps is entirely up to you and please proceed carefully when making changes to the registry, incorrect modifications may affect how the system operates.

Once you’ve had a chance to review or try the steps, please let me know how it goes. I look forward to your reply.
