How to set an auto reply when I am in the CC field of an email in New Outlook

In classic outlook I can setup rules to send an auto reply when I receive an email that I am CC'd to. I need this as I do not look at my CC emails on a regular basis and some people are not good at working out that if you need to action something you should be included in the To Field.

I cannot see an option for a condition to reply to sender in the rule management in Outlook New. when will this feature be added, since it was possible to do in Outlook Classic.

    Dear @Andrea Richards,

I understand the workflow you are trying to achieve, and you are correct that this was possible in Outlook Classic.

At the moment, New Outlook does not support creating rules or automatic replies based on whether you are included in the CC field. Unlike Outlook Classic, New Outlook only supports server‑side rules, which have a reduced set of conditions. Specifically, conditions such as “where my name is in the CC box” or “sent only to me” which are required to trigger CC‑based auto‑replies are not currently available in New Outlook.

Because of this limitation, it is not possible to configure an automatic reply that triggers only when you are CC’d in New Outlook at this time.

New Outlook’s rules are currently limited compared to Classic Outlook and do not expose the “sent only to me / where my name is in the Cc box” style conditions needed for this scenario.

To get automatic replies when CC’d, Classic Outlook must be used, where a rule can be created that:

    1. Applies to messages received.
    2. Uses conditions such as “sent only to me” or similar.
    3. Uses the “reply using a specific template” action to send the auto‑reply.

New Outlook does not yet provide an equivalent condition set, and the documentation only describes standard automatic replies (for all messages) and general rules management, not CC‑specific auto‑replies or timelines for feature parity.
