My subscription was cancelled for no apparent reason, my site was immediately shut down for no reason after it just said they've detected suspicious activity on my account.

    Hello Will

Thank you for reaching out and sorry to hear about the sudden cancellation of your subscription and the immediate shutdown of your site. I understand how disruptive this can be.

Azure Security performs routine audits and monitoring to protect customers. When suspicious activity is detected in a subscription (which can include unusual login patterns, resource creation from unfamiliar locations, or potential policy violations), the subscription is automatically disabled as a protective measure. This is a standard security control and does not always mean malicious intent on your part — it can sometimes be a false positive.

    1. Check your email Please review the inbox (and spam/junk folder) of the email address associated with your Azure account. You should have received a notification with more details about the detected activity and any required actions.
    2. Secure your account immediately (while waiting for support) Change the password for your Microsoft account.

Enable or review Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings.

If you can still access the Azure portal, review any resources for anything you don’t recognize and stop/delete suspicious ones.

    1. Create a support request This is the fastest and most effective way to have the Azure Account Review / Security team investigate and potentially re-enable your subscription.
Sign in to the Azure portal.
Go to Help + support→ Create a support request. Issue type: Subscription management Problem type: Re-enable my subscription (or "Subscription disabled") Provide as much detail as possible: subscription ID, when the issue occurred, and that you believe it may be a false positive. Direct support link (if portal access is limited): You can also start a support request here: [Azure Billing & Subscription Support]

The Account Review team will investigate your case. Many customers in similar situations have had their subscriptions reactivated after review.

For official guidance on disabled or cancelled Azure subscriptions, please refer to this Microsoft documentation:

    Reactivate a disabled Azure subscription

    Thanks,
    Manish.
