Access denied response

I created a private channel to help coworkers out. I am the owner of said channel with several other owners. I then left the channel, but no one has access to it now we need access as it has all of our files. How can we fix this?

    I’d like to reassure you that the files have not been deleted. It could be the private channel no longer has an active owner. Private channels in Microsoft Teams are managed separately from the main team, and if all owners leave or are removed, access to the channel and its files becomes locked by design.

    To restore access, a Microsoft Teams administrator or Global administrator will need to reassign an owner to the private channel or repair its membership using admin tools.

    Step-by-step to add owner from Teams admin Center:

    • Sign in to the Microsoft Teams admin center
    • Go to Teams > Manage teams > Search for and select the team that contains the private channel
    • Open the Channels tab > Select the private channel and choose Edit
    • Add a user and set their role as Owner > Save the changes

    Once an owner is restored: The owner can access the private channel, files stored in the private channel’s SharePoint site become accessible again, the owner can add other members as needed
