    Hi @Jonas Lejon,

    Thank you for asking.

At the moment, the main background that attendees see in a Teams Town hall is limited to the built‑in options provided by Microsoft. In the Customize screen, where layouts like Classic, Panelist, or Dynamic are selected, there isn’t a way to upload or add your own custom image as the event stage background. You can adjust the theme color, banner image, and logo, but the actual Town hall stage background itself can’t be customized beyond those preset options. Unfortunately, this is a current design limitation of the product, not something that can be changed through settings or admin configuration.

If having the ability to apply a custom stage background would make a real difference for your events, I’d strongly encourage you to share that idea directly with the Microsoft Teams product team via the Microsoft Teams · Community feedback portal.   User's image

That’s the right place to raise feature requests, and it genuinely helps guide what the team looks at for future improvements. If you do submit feedback, feel free to share the link here. I’d be more than happy to upvote it to help increase visibility, and I’ll also do what I can to raise awareness of this internally.

As a forum moderator, I don’t have the ability to change the product’s behavior directly. However, I hope this explanation helps clarify the current situation and guides you to the right place to share your idea if this capability is important for your use case.

Thank you again for taking the time to reach out and share your thoughts.

For a Teams town hall, the “Customize screen” pane only lets producers choose from the built‑in event screen backgrounds; there is no option in that pane to upload or add a custom image.

Custom branding options that can be configured are:

    • Town hall theming (banner image, logo, and related visuals in emails and event surfaces) configured by the organizer in the town hall’s Theming tab.
    • Organization-wide custom meeting backgrounds and meeting themes, which admins can upload and assign (requires Teams Premium) for use as camera backgrounds and other meeting surfaces.

However, the event screen background gallery shown in the town hall production view cannot be extended with additional custom images.
