"More information required" means the sign-in is being interrupted by additional security requirements such as MFA, device enrollment, or conditional access. On iOS with Intune/Company Portal this typically requires completing enrollment or using the correct app and method your organization expects.
Try the following steps in order:
- Complete required enrollment on the device
- On the iOS device, open Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.
- If available, use Account driven user enrollment:
- Tap the option to sign in with your work or school account.
- Sign in with the same work or school account used for Intune.
- Approve Allow Remote Management so the Intune profile can install.
- Wait until the management profile is installed and your work account shows as managed.
- After enrollment completes, open the Intune/Company Portal app again and sign in with your work or school account and password.
- If blocked when accessing email or other resources
- Some organizations require using Outlook mobile instead of the native iOS mail app.
- If you see More information is required when trying to add your account in the native mail app, cancel there and instead:
- Install and open Outlook on iOS.
- Go to Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account.
- Enter the same work or school email and choose Sign in with Office 365.
- Complete any MFA or registration prompts.
- Use "Sign in from another device" correctly (if required by your org)
- In the Company Portal app, choose Sign in from another device.
- Note the one-time code shown on the iOS device.
- On the other device (for example, a work PC already joined to your organization), go to
https://microsoft.com/devicelogin and enter that code.
- Complete the sign-in on the other device, then return to the iOS device and wait for the app to finish verifying.
- If sign-in still fails
- Ensure the account and password are correct by signing into another Microsoft 365 service (for example, Outlook on the web) on a browser.
- If the prompt loops or continues to say More information required, the tenant’s conditional access or MFA configuration may need admin review. In that case, contact the organization’s IT/Intune administrator and provide:
- The exact error text ("More information required" and any other message)
- That this occurs in the Intune/Company Portal app on iOS
- Whether the device is already enrolled under VPN & Device Management.
