    Dear Sadiqua Jones

Thank you for your question and for sharing the details into Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand how inconvenient it is when Internet Explorer cannot open web pages even after you reset your HP PC. At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario. To help narrow this down, could you please share a few details below?

    • Which Windows version are you using?
    • Which Internet Explorer version is installed (IE 8/9/10/11)?
    • What is the exact error message shown in Internet Explorer (or a screenshot)?
    • Can you access the internet using another app or browser on the same PC (for example: any other browser, or Windows Update)?
    • Are you connected via Wi‑Fi or Ethernet, and are you using any VPN/Proxy?

In the meantime, here are a few basic steps you can try:

    1. Confirm the PC has internet connectivity (not only IE)
    • Check if your Wi‑Fi/Ethernet shows “Connected”.
    • If possible, try opening any other site/app that uses the internet to check again.
    1. Check Date/Time
    • Make sure the Date, Time, and Time zone are correct.
    • Restart Internet Explorer and test again.
    1. Make sure Internet Explorer is not set to “Work Offline”
    • Open Internet Explorer.
    • Press Alt to show the menu bar (if hidden).
    • Select File > make sure Work Offline is not checked.
    1. Reset Internet Explorer settings
    • Internet Explorer > Internet Options > Advanced tab > click Reset
    • (Optional) Check Delete personal settings
    • Click Reset > restart the PC > test IE again
    1. Reset network components
    • Open Command Prompt as Administrator
    • Run these commands one by one: netsh winsock resetnetsh int ip reset and ipconfig /flushdns
    • Restart the PC and test Internet Explorer again.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.

I hope these steps help improve Internet Explorer’s ability to load web pages on your device. Wishing you a smooth and stable browsing experience going forward.

If you're having trouble loading Internet Explorer and have already reset your HP computer, here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is active. You can do this by trying to connect to the internet using another device.
    2. Disable Proxy Settings: Sometimes, incorrect proxy settings can prevent Internet Explorer from connecting. Go to Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings and ensure that "Use a proxy server for your LAN" is unchecked.
    3. Reset Internet Explorer Settings: You can reset Internet Explorer to its default settings. Go to Internet Options > Advanced tab and click on "Reset" under the Reset Internet Explorer settings section.
    4. Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking Internet Explorer. You may need to temporarily disable them to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Update Network Drivers: Outdated or corrupted network drivers can cause connectivity issues. Check for updates for your network adapter drivers through Device Manager.
    6. Review Event Logs: If you are still having issues, review the Application log of the IIS server (if applicable) for any errors that might provide more insight into the problem.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for any specific error messages that appear when you try to connect, as they can provide more clues about the underlying problem.
