Why has the 'Add an agenda' button disappeared from my Teams meeting window?

It appears that Microsoft have moved the 'Add meeting notes' or 'Add an agenda' button from the new meeting window in Teams.
I can still see it for channel meetings. And I can add the meeting notes if I right click on a meeting, select 'Chat with participants', then go to to Recap tab and click 'Add notes'.
So I can still access the feature, but it was really useful where it was when creating a meeting. I'm wondering why it has been removed and if/when we will get it back.
I have Microsoft Teams version 26032.208.4399.5.

Hi @ElaineHarrison-8050,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

To clarify what you’re seeing, this behavior aligns with recent changes to the Microsoft Teams meeting interface. While meeting notes and agendas are still supported, the way you access them can vary depending on the meeting experience you’re using (including the newer unified calendar) as well as the meeting type. As a result, the entry point may not always appear in the same place as before.

That said, here are a few workarounds that often help in this situation:

1/ Use the Recap > Notes path (the option you already discovered):

Microsoft’s own guidance confirms that meeting notes can be accessed after the meeting through the meeting details or Recap section, not only at the time the meeting is created. You can find more details here: Take meeting notes in Microsoft Teams.

2/ Try creating or editing the meeting in Teams on the web:

If the desktop client is in the middle of a feature rollout, the web version may display certain options earlier or in a slightly different layout. This can be useful for comparison or quick access.

3/ Make sure Teams is updated to the latest available version:

Microsoft notes that feature availability can vary by build, so it’s recommended to update Teams before escalating further. You can also compare your version with the official release history here: Version update history for the new and classic Microsoft Teams app.

4/ If available, test switching off the new “unified calendar” experience:

Some users have reported that the Add agenda option reappeared after switching back from the unified calendar to the original calendar experience (where this option is still available). You can see a related discussion here: TEAMS meetings agenda function is MISSING.

It’s also worth noting that the placement and availability of “Add an agenda others can edit” has historically varied depending on the meeting type (for example, private vs. channel meetings) and how the meeting is created. In fact, Microsoft Q&A moderators have observed cases where this option disappears once a meeting becomes a channel meeting, which reinforces that the interface is not always consistent across different scenarios.

Because this appears to be related to a product or UI rollout rather than a setting you can control locally, the best next step is to submit feedback directly from Teams by selecting Help > Feedback, or through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub > Send Feedback. When submitting feedback, it’s helpful to include:

  • Your Teams version (26032.208.4399.5)
  • Screenshots showing the meeting window where the option is missing
  • The workaround you found (Recap > Add notes)

I think that… the agenda/notes button doesn’t show in the new Teams meeting form because notes were moved into the Recap flow, so the only simple workaround is to create the meeting first and add them from Recap or the chat.
