    Hi @Janet Bates

Thank you for posting question to Microsoft Q&A forum.

May I ask if you are using Classic Outlook, New Outlook for Windows or Legacy Outlook, New Outlook for Mac?

For New Outlook Windows: Go to View tab > Zoom > You can reset or choose minus to zoom out.

For Classic Outlook, make sure Immersive Reader is off, if you see something like this, choose Close. You can also check for the zoom in button on the bottom right.

For both Legacy and New Outlook Mac, you can use your fingers pinch in to zoom out.

If this is not what you meant, please provide screenshot and your Outlook version via private message.

I look forward for your reply.

If the text in the Reading Pane of Outlook appears too large and scrambled, you can try the following steps to fix it:

    1. Adjust Zoom Level: Check if the zoom level is set too high. You can adjust the zoom level by holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling your mouse wheel down to decrease the zoom.
    2. Change Font Size: You can also change the font size in Outlook. Go to File > Options > Mail > Stationery and Fonts. Here, you can adjust the font settings for new mail messages, responding or forwarding messages, and composing in plain text.
    3. Reset View Settings: Sometimes, resetting the view settings can help. Go to the View tab, and select Reset View to restore the default settings.
    4. Check Display Settings: Ensure that your display settings on Windows are set to 100% scaling. Right-click on the desktop, select Display settings, and adjust the scaling under the "Scale and layout" section.
    5. Update Outlook: Make sure that your Outlook is up to date. Go to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for any add-ins that might be causing the problem or repairing your Office installation.
