Text spacing/indentation does not match on my ipad and macbook onenote

Both the iPad and the MacBook have version 16.106. The indentation for number lists/points indentation on the iPad is much larger than the MacBook app. so when I highlight any text, it does not match up. I checked with the browser version of OneNote, and it matches the MacBook app. I assume there's something wrong with the iPad one. I noticed my iPhone app is the same way, where the indentation is much larger than the MacBook version. Please help!

First of all, I’m sorry you’re having a problem and for the situation you encountered, I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

To further isolate the issue, could you please try the following steps below:

Step 1:

Open OneNote for the web.
Open the affected page and select the text where the indentation appears incorrect.
Click the Clear Formatting (eraser) icon to reset the text formatting.

Step 2:

Re‑apply the indentation or numbered/bulleted list formatting by following the steps in this article: Format notes in OneNote

Additionally, to help me better understand the scope of the behavior, could you please confirm:

The iPhone model and iOS version you are currently using.
Whether any other users within the same tenant experience the same indentation issue on iPhone, iPad or Mac?

I also have this issue. My iPad bullet points are too far in compared to my laptop. And the highlighting and images I have inserted are misaligned as well.

I tried the steps above, and I'm still having the same issue. I'm having this issue on my iPhone (iOS 26.3, iPhone 17 Pro Max) and my iPad (iOS 26.3, iPad air 5th gen)

May I ask whether the two of you have encountered this issue before? If the issue still persists, I recommend that you create an additional post in the Apple Community so they can assist you in more detail, as this appears to be related to the three iOS devices involved.

The support team over there has higher permission than us to investigate the issue from background, they have more resource and correct escalation channel in handling this kind of issues. This would be a more efficient way in handling the case for you.

I've never had this issue before. I noticed the issue on 2/11 when my highlighter was misaligned.

I also have this issue. After updating from 16.105 to 16.106 on iPad everything got scrambled in my notebooks.

It needs to be fixed immediately.

PS: my iPhone on version 16.105 and my PC were not affected.

I have the same problem - see screenshots below for the difference between bullets displayed in OneNote for iOS 16.105.3 and 16.106. The problem persists with 16.106.1.

Hi Jade, thanks for engaging here. I believe there may be an issue with bullet indent size, which appears to have been introduced in OneNote for iOS 16.106 - the size of the bullet indents has increased a lot. I have the same problem with all my iOS devices (2 x iPhones, 4 x iPads, plus my wife's devices too), across all of my notes. The bullet indent size is normal on OneNote on my Windows PCs. The only thing which changed was upgrading the iOS app. The problem is still there on OneNote for iOS 16.106.1. Thanks.

Our product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback. The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. Thanks Jade, but I believe the issue is with the OneNote app rather than iOS, so I'm not sure posting in the Apple Community would help (apologies for the double post, there was a glitch on the website and it looked like the first one hadn't gone through).

I encountered the same problem while using it, and although I followed the steps, the problem remained unresolved.

Bullet points appear much larger on the iPad than on other devices.
