    Hi @Mackie Jo Ann,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you’re looking for the correct way to upload your assignment in Microsoft Teams, and I’m happy to guide you through the steps so you can successfully submit your work for your instructor to review.

You can upload & turn in your assignment (desktop/web) by follow below steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Teams.
    2. Go to your Class Team.
    3. Select Assignments at the top.
    4. Click the assignment card to open the details.
    5. Under My work, select + Add work and choose where your file is stored:
      • Upload from this device (from your computer),
      • OneDrive (your school cloud storage), or
      • New file to create a Word/Excel/PowerPoint file directly in Teams.
    6. Once your document appears under My work, click Turn in.

You’ll receive a confirmation once the submission is complete. If you need to update the file before the due date, select Undo turn in, make changes, then click Turn in again.

Note: Your instructor will not see your work until you click Turn in.

Regarding your inquiry about submitting your assignment through a private chat with your instructor:

You can attach a file in a private chat by selecting the Attach (paperclip) icon and choosing a file from your device or OneDrive.

However, for graded assignments, most schools require submissions through the Assignments tab. This ensures your work appears properly in your instructor’s gradebook and allows them to use rubrics and structured feedback tools.

If your instructor specifically tells you to send the file in chat, that’s fine but just keep in mind it will not show up in the Assignments or Grades section.

I hope this information helps. Please try the steps and let me know whether they resolve the issue. If the problem persists, we can work together to find a solution.
