You won't find Gridlines in the View Menu. It's available from either of 2 locations:
In the Show group on the View tab of the Ribbon:
There is no default keyboard shortcut to toggle the Gridlines but one can be assigned to the Grid command. Also, it can be added to the QAT as well as to a custom tab on the Ribbon.
Note that Borders is not the equivalent of Gridlines.
1
On the View menu at the top of Excel, check to ensure the Gridlines setting is enabled.
2
If that does not resolve the problem, select all cells in the worksheet
On the home tab, check the Fill color and ensure the Fill color is not set to white, set it to #No Fill'.
3
If that does not resolve the problem, select all cells in the worksheet.
On the Home tab, click Borders, select the drop-down menu, select More Borders, and check the borders set for the cells.
